Every January, the world buzzes with resolutions. Lists. Plans. Promises. And yet, most of them fade by February.
Why?
Because complexity kills momentum.
That’s why I believe in the power of one word.
One word that becomes your compass. Your anchor. Your lens for every decision and every challenge.
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about direction.
Many years ago, I started this practice. In 2023, my word was Consistency. I chose it because I had to face a hard truth: I was inconsistent. I’d start strong, then disappear. Big bursts of energy followed by silence.
Owning that truth was uncomfortable—but necessary. And that word changed me. It taught me that consistency isn’t glamorous, but it’s powerful. It builds trust. It creates momentum. It transforms health, business, and relationships.
In 2024, I doubled down on routines. I learned to show up even when I didn’t feel like it. I lost 45 pounds because I committed to habits that worked. And yes, I’ve had seasons where I slipped—but the foundation is there.
In 2025, my focus shifted to words themselves. Why? Because words shape worlds. Every night, my husband and I speak three simple phrases over our kids:
“We love you. We are proud of you. We believe in you.”
Those words have become seeds—planting identity, confidence, and security in their hearts. And they remind me daily: what we speak matters.
This year, the word that keeps rising in my heart is EMBRACE.
Not hustle. Not grind. Not control. Embrace.
Because life isn’t just about chasing what’s next—it’s about opening your arms to what’s here. The people. The opportunities. The challenges. The growth. The purpose God is placing in front of you.
Embrace is active. Intentional. Wholehearted. It’s not passive acceptance—it’s leaning in with courage and faith.
I live by five pillars—Faith, Family, Foundation, Leadership, and Work. Here’s how EMBRACE will shape each one:
Your word is already inside you. You’ve felt it stirring. Maybe you’ve wrestled with it. Maybe you’ve ignored it. But now it’s time to name it.
Pick your word. Declare it. Let it guide you.
Because one word can change everything.
What’s your word for 2026?
